God’s Church is Changing

PorticoOur church building is changing!

In the past week, Gregory Construction has been building our front porch/portico addition.  The work is still in progress, but it is exciting to see how much they accomplish each day . . . and how different the building looks!

God’s “church” (that is, his “universal church” – all believers of all time) is changing, as well.  God, the master architect, is engaged in an ongoing project of expansion.  Jesus promised that “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).  The results?   Here is the picture of God’s house given to John in the book of Revelation: “I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:9)

More and more souls are being added to God’s household.  More and more souls will hear of the forgiveness of sins found in Jesus alone, given by God’s unconditional love alone, and revealed to us in the pages of the Bible alone.  And then at a moment that only God knows, the project will be declared complete and Jesus will return.  On the Last Day, God’s completed building project – all believers of all time – will be together in a glorious heavenly home forever.  How exciting!

We look forward to the ultimate completion of God’s spiritual building project in these next weeks of worship, a season known as “End Times”.  Join us this Sunday to celebrate his love and look forward to his return.

Built on Jesus, just like you,

Pastor Jon Bergemann
